The first two editions of the International Symposium on Photonic and Electronic Molecular Machines (PEMM) were held in Toulouse in 2013 and 2015. The latest edition took place in October 2024 in Nara, Japan. These three successive editions welcomed prestigious speakers, including Nobel Prize winners (Ben Feringa, Jean-Pierre Sauvage) and renowned international researchers (David Leigh, Joseph Michl, Masahiro Irie, Dean Astumian, Jeanne Crassous, James Tour, Hiroshi Nishihara, Stefan Hecht, Kazushi Kinbara, etc.).
The last PEMM-2024 meeting in Japan brought together speakers from 13 countries and featured two keynote lectures, 13 invited lectures, 14 oral communications, and 36 posters contributions spanned over two days of conference. PEMM aims to promote scientific exchanges between today's young researchers, tomorrow's leaders, and their pioneering mentors. The target audience for PEMM-2026 is around 250 participants.
